Quick sketch of the ruins of the Sunny Brae Arena

Sunny Brae arena, Lewisville (Moncton), New Brunswick

Quick & dirty watercolour sketch of the ruins of Moncton’s Sunny Brae Arena. This is on unbelievably light-weight paper in a throw-away sketchbook. From a photo I took a couple of weeks ago. John Philip Sousa played here a couple of times. Historic Places page on the history of the Sunny Brae Rink.

Edith Cavell school columns

These columns once faced Park Street on the front of the original Edith Cavell School, which burned in the mid-1980s. Now they are free-standing, facing Victoria Park on Weldon Street, in Moncton, New Brunswick. Pen-and-ink sketch on 5 ¾ × 8 ¾″ Stillman & Birn Gamma (150 gsm) ivory paper. Pencil and Lamy Vista with Lexington Gray Noodler’s Ink.
