This started out unusually — I did the pen-and-ink sketch directly, without any pencil drawing, or even any real plan. Sawmill Creek covered bridge, Hopewell
Plein air sketch using pencil, Carbon & Lamy fountain pens (with carbon ink and Noodler’s Ink Borealis Black ink), and Copic markers in a 9 ¼ × 6 ¼″ Stillman & Birn Alpha (150 gsm) white sketchbook. The bridge was built in 1905, and sits unused alongside Route 114 between Riverview and Alma, New Brunswick.
